Activity: Story Writing

By: Kelly Petersohn, LCSW

Story writing grief journey activity. While navigating your grief experience, story writing can open a door into deeper reflection and exploration. Writing freely and without judgement can unlock a flow of mindfulness and new discoveries. When taking your pen to paper, you may be wondering where to start. Eluna’s bereavement team of clinicians has put together this story writing activity for youth and adults.

  • Page one provides story writing prompts for teens & adults.
  • Page two provides story writing & drawing prompts for all ages.

We invite you to use this as a guide to begin putting words to your grief experience, keeping in mind that the process is more important than the product. You can build upon your story over time – or you can choose to save, share, or shred your story at anytime. Remember, this is your story to write and own.
