Somos Familia
Somos Familia was founded by two moms from the East Bay (San Francisco Bay Area) with Latino gay and bisexual sons in 2007 to reach out to other families. With a group of volunteers and staff of different generations, they established the following mission and vision: Somos Familia builds leadership in our Latinx families and communities to create a culture where people of diverse genders and sexual orientations can thrive.
Eleven years later, Somos Familia has created an array of educational resources in Spanish including the animated web series, Entre Nós. They facilitate individual conversations with Latinx parents and hold workshops to educate and foster the acceptance of the Lesbian Gay Bi Trans Queer (LGBTQ) people amongst the Latinx community.
