Meet New York Life Volunteer, Joe!
Joe is a member of New York Life’s Tulsa General Office and a volunteer at Camp Erin Tulsa. At Camp, he has a unique role: Volunteer “Chef.” He assists the on-site cooking team, providing meals to Camp Erin Tulsa’s camper and volunteer community. He says it’s a great joy for him to give back and use the culinary school degree he earned earlier in his career.
Other employees from New York Life’s Tulsa office lend their time as volunteer greeters, big buddies, or bag-preppers. According to Joe, Camp Erin “fundamentally supports why we educate our clients to get protected (through life insurance),” and that, “although there is no complete healing during the grieving process, [Camp] provides relief.”
The Eluna and Camp Erin teams could not be more grateful for volunteers like Joe. The Camp Erin Tulsa director shares that “the engagement of the NYL Team significantly enriches the camp experience, providing essential support and fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants. Their dedication and involvement exemplifies the spirit of community and volunteerism that is at the heart of Camp Erin Tulsa.”
Camp Erin continues to be a pivotal part of the Tristesse Grief Center in Tulsa, OK, helping drive awareness locally where a community can grieve together but never alone. Find out how you can volunteer at a Camp Erin near you!
Thank you to New York Life Foundation for making the magic of camp possible.
