Eluna Recognizes Visionary Leaders Supporting Children Impacted by Grief and Addiction Through Inaugural ‘25th Anniversary Eluminary Circle’
PHILADELPHIA, JUNE 10, 2025 — In celebration of its 25th anniversary, Eluna proudly announces the inaugural recipients of its Eluminary Circle—a tribute to visionary individuals and organizations whose dedication has helped shape Eluna’s mission to support children, teens, and families impacted by grief or addiction. The nine honorees represent the first wave of Eluminary Circle inductees, with additional individuals and partners to be recognized throughout the year as part of Eluna’s silver anniversary celebration.
Since its founding in 2000 as The Moyer Foundation, Eluna has grown into a national network of community support delivering life-changing programming through Camp Erin®, Camp Mariposa®, the Eluna Resource Center and Team Jesse. The 25th Anniversary Eluminary Circle honors all those who have shaped Eluna’s journey through enduring partnerships, philanthropic leadership, and unwavering service. Additional Eluminary Circle inductees will be announced throughout the year-long celebration, shining a light on leaders whose contributions to Eluna have made an impact across North America.
“As we commemorate 25 years of service, the Eluminary Circle embodies the support, dedication and tenacity of those who have stood with us alongside our journey,” said Mary FitzGerald, CEO of Eluna. “Their enduring commitment has made it possible for thousands of children, teens and families to find camps, community and connections for a lifetime, and their leadership will continue to guide us into the future.”
The nine inaugural members of Eluna’s 25th Anniversary Eluminary Circle include:
- Arielle Densen, Vice President, Tiller, LLC and The Densen Family, for aiding in thought leadership and national awareness efforts especially around childhood grief
- Cassandra Bell, Vice President and Senior Regional Program Officer, M&T Charitable Foundation, for helping Eluna destigmatize grief through educational programming and resource expansion as a major sponsor of the Eluna Resource Center’s Community Conversations.
- Emily Bittenbender, Owner and Managing Partner, Bittenbender Construction, whose 100% woman-owned business has been a generous donor and dedicated partner to Eluna since 2017, modeling how values-driven businesses can create meaningful change.
- Gabe Weissman, Senior Vice President of Global Public Affairs, Cencora, and President, Cencora Impact Foundation, for the strategic investment in expansion, curriculum enhancement and data evaluation of Eluna’s addiction prevention and mentoring program, Camp Mariposa, since 2015.
- Gregory Deavens, President and CEO, Independence Blue Cross, for advancing youth mental health and camp access in Greater Philadelphia. Since 2013, Eluna and IBX have partnered to improve the health and wellbeing of our community.
- John Middleton, Managing Partner and CEO, Philadelphia Phillies, champions of Eluna’s mission for over two decades and founding supporter of Camp Erin Philadelphia. The Phillies organization has played a vital role in raising awareness and funds for Eluna’s mission.
- The Mincio and Hager Family, founders of Team Jesse, providing education and support for military families, and the Ronald A. Mincio Education Fund, supporting scholarships and research-based education through the Eluna Resource Center, have been tireless champions of kids and families facing grief and addiction.
- Maria Collins, Vice President, New York Life Foundation, a cornerstone supporter of Camp Erin and childhood bereavement resources whose outstanding generosity has made it possible for its growth into a network of 31 camp locations across North America. Since 2008, through thoughtful partnership, active leadership on Eluna’s Board of Trustees, and enthusiastic support and volunteerism from New York Life employees and agents, the New York Life Foundation has been an instrumental force in Eluna’s vision that no child grieves alone.
- Susan and Erik Hansen, Seattle-based leaders whose steadfast commitment to Eluna has launched the organization’s first scholarship program, offering alumni of Camp Mariposa a path to continuing education, and provided support for thousands of youths and families in Seattle and beyond.
These changemakers were formally recognized during Eluna’s Champions for Children Celebration in April in Philadelphia. The event raised funds to support Eluna’s free, trauma-informed programs and honored the compassion and courage of families who have turned pain into purpose.
Eluna has supported nearly 60,000 youth and families in person and over one million online through its resource center. Camps and services are at no cost to families thanks to the generous support of Eluna donors and delivered in partnership with community organizations across the U.S. and Canada.
