Coping After a Disaster: Activity Book for Youth

Art TherapyParenting / Caregiving

Coping after a disaster booklet cover imageThe Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has created this activity book to offer parents and educators an interactive way to talk to kids about how to cope after a disaster. This can be used in schools, communities, and families to help children talk about their feelings after a disaster, and learn positive ways to express their emotions in uncertain times. Disasters may include a severe storm, flood, hurricane, tornado, earthquake, wildfire, or any emergency causing signficant harm to people or buildings.

We also recommend visiting the CDC webpage, Caring for Children in a Disaster, where you can find a series of additional tools and resources to support children after a disaster.
