Envision Partnerships – Camp Mariposa Southwestern Ohio
Envision Partnerships’ Mission is to empower individuals, families and communities to live healthy, happy, safe and drug-free lives. “Prevention is our Superpower” and prevention is at the heart of who they are and what they do. The four pillars of prevention that underlay the mission are: substance abuse, problem gambling, suicide, and violence prevention.
The work of Envision Partnerships happens primarily in Butler County, Ohio and is split between school-based programs and community-based services and coalitions. Staff provide educational support groups, Botvin’s Life Skills Training, suicide prevention, and other evidence-based prevention to grades K-12 in all 10 school districts.
Youth development programs take place in after-school settings like the Hamilton Boys and Girls Club and the Booker T. Washington Community Center. Envision Partnerships has developed a unique theater-based program that integrates The Search Institute’s 40 Developmental Assets called Kidz-n-Character.
In addition to partnering with several non-profits, businesses, faith-based organizations, government agencies, etc., three coalitions are housed at Envision Partnerships. They are the Butler County Suicide Prevention Coalition, the Hamilton Prevention Partners Coalition, and the Butler County Tobacco Policy Coalition.
Envision Partnerships is Eluna’s Camp Mariposa Southwestern Ohio partner. Camp Mariposa is a free, weekend camp program for children ages 9-12. At camp, youth participate in fun, traditional camp activities combined with education and support sessions led by trained professionals and adult mentors. Additional social and educational activities are offered for youth, and their families throughout the year. Youth who attend Camp Mariposa learn coping skills that build resiliency and ultimately break the cycle of addiction.
Envision Partnerships serves individuals and families throughout the life cycle and believe that all youth are at risk at different times and for individual reasons.
