JFCS of Greater Philadelphia – Camp Mariposa Philadelphia
Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Greater Philadelphia (JFCS) is a social service agency that offers a variety of services to individuals across the life span. The mission of JFCS is to strengthen families and individuals across generations and cultures to achieve stability, independence, and community.
JFCS’s Education and Outreach Department (EOS) provides evidenced-based prevention and intervention services to help parents, children and communities address a variety of needs. These services include school-based prevention education, early intervention, parenting education and supportive services for youth affected by the substance use disorder of a loved one.
JFCS of Greater Philadelphia serves as the partner for Eluna’s Camp Mariposa Philadelphia. Camp Mariposa Philadelphia is a year-long camp program for youth ages 9-12 who have experienced substance use disorders within their family structure. The camp provides 6 camp weekends along with 6 additional actives throughout the year. These experiences focus on traditional camp activities enhanced with educational and therapeutic elements designed to teach youth a variety of problem-solving and self-care strategies. The program is designed for children with shared experiences to come together to build relationships and skills that will lead to healthy and safe development.
