Trauma Intervention Programs (TIP) of Riverside County
Trauma Intervention Programs Inc. (TIP) is a national non-profit organization founded in 1985. TIP has 15 affiliates serving over 250 cities across the nation. Each affiliate uses specially trained citizen volunteers to respond to traumatic incidents to support victims and their families in the first few hours following a tragedy.
The Riverside County Chapter of TIP was founded in 1993 and currently has 38 volunteers. TIP service areas include 10 cities and 21 unincorporated areas. They support 7 first responder partner-agencies: Cal Fire, Riverside County Sheriff’s Dept, City Fire and City Police Departments that are within our service areas, and 7 hospitals. TIP of Riverside County works closely with TIP National for fidelity to its mission and goals.
TIP Volunteers are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They are called by police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and hospital personnel to assist family members and friends following a natural or unexpected death; victims of violent crime including rape, assault, robbery, or burglary; victims of fire; disoriented or lonely elderly persons; people involved in motor vehicle accidents; people who are distraught and seeking immediate support; and survivors of suicide.
