Mary FitzGerald
Chief Executive OfficerMary has served as a nonprofit executive in Philadelphia for over 20 years with a passion for supporting youth and other vulnerable populations through emphasis on physical and mental wellness. Her combined experience in business and nonprofit leadership brings a unique expertise to organizations, with a focus on strategic planning, capacity building, and organizational transformation.
Mary was appointed the first chief executive officer of Eluna in July 2015. Since then, Mary has worked with the team to double Eluna’s operating budget, expand its national footprint, create alumni scholarship opportunities and Eluna has been recognized twice in Philadelphia Business Journal’s Best Places to Work. Prior to this role, she worked in the professional sports industry for the NFL and FOX and served as COO of Pop Warner Football.
Mary is a current member of the Tulane Sports Law Advisory Board and has also served on the following boards: AmerisourceBergen Foundation’s Advisory Committee, St. Joseph’s University School of Public Health Advisory Board, NFL’s Research and Education Foundation (Chair), and Kellogg’s Youth Sports Collaborative.
Mary is an experienced public speaker and advocate having appeared in several media outlets such as CBS, ABC, NBC, The Philadelphia Inquirer, iHeart Radio, medium.com, and the Philly Sports Network, and has been a featured speaker at various business industry events such as the Mutual Fund Industry Awards, Women in Lodging, PoWer of Professional Women, and Women to Watch.
Mary has enjoyed teaching marketing as an adjunct professor at Albion College’s Philadelphia campus and received a JD/MBA from Tulane University, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of The Sports Lawyers Journal and President of the Sports Law Society. Her publications include “The Court of Arbitration for Sport: Doping and Due Process During the Olympics” and “Sports Law.”
Mary volunteers in her local youth sports, church and school communities, was a mentor for the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce and Secretary of her parish St. Vincent de Paul Society for over 10 years. She is a registered yoga teacher RYT-200 who enjoys traveling, skiing and hiking with her two and four-legged family members and still roots for all her favorite NY teams.
