Gonzalez is the Program Officer – Volunteer Coordinator at the Southern Nevada State Veterans Home through the Nevada Department of Veterans Services. With more than eight years of experience in community health, outreach, and program development, she is passionate about connecting communities with resources and ensuring families have the tools they need to thrive.
A first-generation Latina, Mayra is deeply committed to uplifting underserved communities and advocating for equitable access to support. She believes in the importance of giving children and caregivers the tools to succeed in life, building a strong foundation early so young people can grow into healthy, happy adults. Her dedication to this mission is reflected in her 10 years of service as a Camp Erin cabin leader, where she has supported youth and families through grief.
Beyond her professional role, Mayra serves on the Nevada Certification Board of Directors as the Community Health Worker representative, and is an active member of the Junior League of Las Vegas and Latinas in Power.
Bilingual in English and Spanish, she is recognized for building trust and fostering collaboration to create lasting community impact.
