Lemons to Lemonade: A Grief Workbook
Lemons to Lemonade: A Grief Workbook is a heartfelt and creative guide written by teen author Sophia Donald, who lost her father at age five and was inspired by the support she received at The Center for Good Grief in Memphis, TN.
Designed for children ages 5–13, it’s filled with art projects, journaling prompts, and hands-on activities that help kids express emotions and commemorate loved ones through creativity. While written for children, it resonates with anyone who loves someone eternally.
The workbook’s simple, compassionate activities can be used in any setting—at home, in schools, or in underserved communities—making grief support inclusive, approachable, and available one community at a time. Sophia’s next goal is to develop a mobile app so grieving kids can stay connected to others like themselves, no matter where they live.
Sophia’s story reminds readers that they are not alone in their grief and that healing can be hopeful, expressive, and shared. The workbook is part of Sophia’s nonprofit, Lemons to Lemonade Foundation, which hosts free grief camps and programs for kids.
