Eluna Joins NACG Members to #FlipTheScript This November

Philadelphia, PA — This November, in recognition of Children’s Grief Awareness Month, Eluna joins members of the National Alliance for Children’s Grief (NACG) to launch the annual Flip the Script campaign.

Created by the NACG with support from national childhood grief organizations—including Dougy Center, Eluna, Experience Camps, and Judi’s House—Flip the Script aims to raise awareness and provide education about childhood bereavement, flipping the script on how we as a society understand and support grieving children and teens.

Far too often, grief in young people goes unseen or misunderstood. Well-intentioned adults may avoid conversations about death, minimize a child’s feelings, or rely on phrases such as “you’ll be okay” or “time heals all wounds.” These responses can unintentionally leave children feeling isolated in their grief. By increasing awareness and offering education, the Flip the Script campaign helps families, schools, and communities provide children who are grieving with the care and understanding they need.

According to the JAG Institute’s 2025 Childhood Bereavement Estimation Model Report, 1 in 11 children in the U.S.—or about 6.5 million—will experience the death of a parent or sibling by age 18. This staggering reality underscores the need to raise awareness and ensure grieving children are not left to navigate their loss alone.

Stacey Moore, CEO of Eluna, shared, “At Eluna, we believe that no child should grieve alone. The Flip the Script campaign reminds us that how we talk about grief—and how we show up for young people—matters. By opening conversations and offering empathy, we can help children find hope, healing, and connection.”

Throughout November, Eluna will share resources, stories, and educational tools to help families, schools, and community members better understand the grieving process and respond with compassion. Together, the Flip the Script campaign and its partners are building a future where every grieving child is seen, supported, and surrounded by care.
