Make a Difference

Camp Mariposa provides support to youth impacted by the substance use disorder of a family member.

Mentors are at the heart of every successful Camp Mariposa experience. Join us in helping youth build confidence, resilience, and lasting connections that extend far beyond camp.

Compassionate, dedicated mentors are a key part of every successful Camp Mariposa experience. Guided by the local camp team, mentors encourage, support, and build meaningful connections with youth at camps and family activities. Training, guidance, and resources will be provided.

To help create a safe, supportive environment, mentors must:

  • Be at least 21 years old (some camp locations welcome mentors ages 18+).
  • Commit to one year of service, including attending at least four overnight camps.
  • Enjoy working with groups of young people in Camp Mariposa’s group mentoring model.
  • Successfully complete the mentor screening process, including an application, interview, and background check.
  • Successfully complete training.
