Sesame Workshop: A Digital Story about Grief and Change

Created by: Sesame Workshop

Sit together and read Something New, in which Elmo’s cousin, Jesse, and her mom, Jill, reflect on the many changes that have happened in their lives since Jesse’s dad died. After you read, talk about some changes, both big and small, that have happened since your person died, such as changes to daily routines. Remind children that it’s okay to miss the way things used to be, and that it’s okay to look forward to new things, too.

These comforting and compassionate resources have been developed by Sesame Workshop with support from the New York Life Foundation.
