Eluna receives $500,000 in funding from the Department of Justice

Grant supports Eluna’s addiction prevention and mentoring program targeting youth impacted by opioids in Dayton and Nashua.

Eluna, formerly The Moyer Foundation, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $500,000 3-year grant by the Department of Justice’s Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) to fund additional programming at its Camp Mariposa addiction prevention and mentoring programs in Nashua, New Hampshire and Dayton, Ohio. Camp Mariposa provides targeted group and peer mentoring services to youth at high-risk for opioid abuse and criminality due to the disease of addiction in the family and/or living in communities with high rates of opioid use.

Eluna’s innovative Camp Mariposa program offers continuing free weekend camps for kids ages 9-17 in 13 locations in the US and provides them with mentoring, addiction prevention and opioid education programs crucial to preventing opioid use, early substance abuse and juvenile delinquent behavior. Eluna will partner with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Nashua and The Youth Council in New Hampshire, and WestCare Ohio and Family Service Association in Ohio to provide standardized mentor training modules, additional evidence-based addiction- prevention and suicide prevention curriculums, a more robust teen component and additional support services for participants and their families through this funding.
