John Melcher

John Melcher is a high impact enterprise leader and strategist who solves complex business issues and leverages deep expertise as a thought leader, influencer and change agent. He provides an exceptional business focused approach linked with action oriented solutions in highly regulated organizations. John has spearheaded numerous strategic initiatives that have optimized business performance.

John was previously the Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Beneficial Bank, founded in 1853 and committed to educating its customers to do the right thing financially, where he led the organization’s Total Rewards, Employee Relations, Organization Development, Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, Education and Leadership Development initiatives.

Before that, John worked with AmerisourceBergen, a Fortune 12, $146B global organization. Here he partnered with executive leadership team members to define, create and execute a corporate talent vision for the enterprise. John significantly impacted the operational and financial performance of the workforce through innovations and improvements within performance management, executive coaching, total rewards, and leadership development as well as launching a company-first shared services center across a geographically-dispersed 17,000 member workforce.

Prior to this, John worked as Vice President, Strategic Learning Lead — Commercial Bank and Operations for TD Bank where he drove the design and implementation of various development solutions to expand organizational capabilities and retool a 5,000+ employee workforce for present and future demands.

Previously John held four HR positions with Wachovia, as Senior Vice President, Senior Organizational Consultant; Senior Vice President Business Partner Initiatives Leader; Senior Vice President, Enterprise Learning; and Vice President, Learning & Development Team Leader. Before transitioning into a corporate-level HR role at Wachovia, John worked in operations as a Retail Branch Manager and Commercial Loan Officer for eight years; he started his career with Sun Trust in similar field leadership roles.
