Lost But Found: A Boy’s Story of Grief and Recovery

Lost but found book cover

Lost But Found deals with one of the toughest issues a parent may ever have to face—explaining to a child that a loved one has died. Often young children are left out of the grieving process and have a hard time understanding the permanence of death. Society tends to add to this confusion with euphemisms such as “gone”, “passed on”, “loss”‘. This book helps a young boy make sense of his father’s death by using clear and compassionate language.

This book is a good starting point for young readers (ages 3 – 6) looking for answers when grieving the death of person that they hold close to their heart.

After reading this book, we recommend the related resources section below to deepen the discussion about the complex and fluctuating emotions that often accompany grief.
