Talking to Children and Teens About the Israel-Gaza War

Tragic Events

A camp Erin camper reflecting on the activities of the dayOur partners at The National Center for School Crisis and Bereavement are dedicated to helping schools support their students through crisis and loss. They have developed a resource that honors the fact that the Israel-Gaza war is distressing to all of us. Children and teens may be wondering why this violence occurred and what else will happen in the future. Like adults, they are better able to cope with upsetting news and images when they understand more about the situation.

With constructive conversation prompts, answers to some very tough questions and respect that some children may be more directly impacted than others, they have developed a 3-page guide entitled Talking to Children and Teens About the Israel-Gaza War. This comprehensive resource provides clear directions on how to address concerns and support an honest conversation.
