Sesame Workshop: Activities for Grieving Children
When someone dies, many things may change, both around us and inside us. We will learn new things and grow in ways we never could have expected. Talking about these changes and feelings can help children (and grown-ups) feel grounded as they grieve.
Sesame Workshop has developed three printable activities to spark these conversations through art and play:
- The Ways We’ve Grown: A coloring page to help families connect with themselves and each other.
- The Giggle Game: Play this game to help children (and grown-ups) hone in on the good things in life.
- You Are Special To Me: A printable to share encouragement and kindness with others.
These comforting and compassionate resources have been developed by Sesame Workshop with support from the New York Life Foundation.
